Halloween

I am so thankful that I was not sick this past Halloween. I started showing signs of coming down with a cold and boy did I start praying hard! I was looking forward to the weekend and I didn't want anything getting in the way of our fun plans.

In a previous post I mentioned that Tom and I keep Halloween pretty simple. In the past we carved our pumpkin, ate a Papa Murphy's Jack-o-Lantern pizza and had root beer floats. We don't get your typical trick-or-treaters because we are in an apartment. Though the past two years my friend Meagan did come trick-or-treating but I had to leave her goodies by the front door since I was sick. I was determined that this year was going to be different!

The Headless Horseman

Sunday night Tom and I were invited to join some friends to go searching for the Headless Horseman. We first watched Disney's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". I hadn't seen it in years and it turns out that Tom had never seen it. Tom was surprised that it didn't have your typical Disney ending. The movie set the stage for our visit to a covered bridge. :)

I don't have any pictures to share of our adventure in search of the Headless Horseman. It is hard to capture anything when it is pitch black outside. We started at one end of the bridge and then made our way across on foot hoping to make it to the other side before the Headless Horseman caught up with us. It was so much fun! Tom was great at chasing Whitney, Meagan and I down. We just barely made it! ;)

I have to say that this is the best Halloween tradition ever! I hope that wherever Tom and I end up living that there is a covered bridge nearby. There is nothing like running around in the dark and imagining what could be out there hunting you down. Letting out a few screams is a must.

Watch Out for the Boogeyman!

The boogeyman paid us a visit Halloween night. Just look at that mask! Love it! Meagan loves Halloween. :) I always try to put something fun together for her when she comes trick-or-treating. Whitney came with her and so that made the visit even more special. Love them both!

I couldn't pass up the oportunity to get my picture with the boogeyman now could I? I told Meagan she should pretend to get me but instead she just put her arms around me. I figured she wanted to take a nice friendly picture first. WRONG! Just when I looked at the camera Meagan totally caught me off guard and scared me. I think I lost a couple of years off my life. ;)

Halloween Traditions

The rest of our Halloween night we stuck with our traditions of carving our pumpkin, eating our pizza and enjoying some root beer floats. We also watched National Treasure. Yeah it isn't quite a Halloween movie but it was as close as we could get besides Lord of the Rings.

Glad you weren't sick! Does that mean you made it through the Primary Program without being sick, too?

Your Halloween sounds very fun. :-)
